Sacrament Meeting Talk
On Sunday we went to Peter's ward to hear him give his missionary "farewell" talk. Mom, Dad, BJ, Karly, Arron, Me (Marcy), Courtney, Megan and Brooklynn were able to be there along with many friends. He got to speak with his best friend and roomy Jake.
Peter gave a great talk. He looked like a missionary in his shirt, tie and sweater (a missionary serving in a warm area that is!). He spoke well and didn't even seem nervous. He talked about how missionaries are called to places through inspiration from Heavenly Father and that they are called to those places with purpose. He shared the story from conference about the brother who sat with President Iring and helped to call missionaries to their specific missions. He shared Dad's experience about knowing that he would be called to Australia just like his cousin and after getting his call wondering where in Australia Pennsylvania was. But then upon arriving and serving in the state of PA knowing that is where he was suppose to be. He bore his testimony about knowing the gospel is true and how he knows that he is suppose to serve in Tuscon, AZ and how he is excited to do so.

Welcome!
--
Elder Peter Reese will be serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 2 years in Tucson, Arizona!
--
Welcome everyone to Elder Peter Reese's personal blog. We are hoping that this blog will be a personal "diary" of sorts while he is on his mission. He will send letters or e-mails home to his family and they will be transcribed to this blog. This way, everyone who loves and care about Peter will be able to "keep in touch" with how he is doing and how his mission is going.
--
We are very excited for him and for this new adventure he has decided to embark on. Please feel free to make comments on the blog. Everything posted here will be saved and printed out at the end of his mission into a book.
--
We also want to mention a few important dates coming up before he actually leaves:
December 26th he will give his farewell talk at the Single Adult Ward at 1 pm at the Vintage Park Stake Building in Elk Grove. If you need more information or directions just ask!
December 29th - he will be having a combined farewell "party" with Jake Lee at the Lee home in Elk Grove at 6:30pm. If you need directions, just ask!
--
Also, he will officially be leaving for his mission on January 12th. We love you Peter and are very proud of you and of the decision you have made to serve a mission. We look forward to all your letters home and we can't wait to write to you also.
--
As soon as we have a mailing address we will be posting that as well!
